Sweet and Sour Chicken
8 pieces of boneless chicken thighs
One eighth cup Aloha shoyu (1/8 cup)
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
Marinate chicken in shoyu, garlic, and ginger for at least one hour. Bake at 350
degrees for 30-35 minutes. Pour sweet and sour sauce over chicken.
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
1 cup sugar
One half cup ketchup (1/2 cup)
One half cup vinegar (1/2 cup)
One half cup water (1/2 cup)
One quarter cup orange marmalade (1/4 cup)
2 Tablespoon pineapple juice
2 teaspoon Aloha shoyu
One and one half teaspoon minced ginger (1 ˝ tsp.)
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 Tablespoon cornstarch blended with one and one half Tablespoon water (1 ˝
Tbsp)
Blend cornstarch with water to form a paste: set aside. In a saucepan, combine
remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and add cornstarch paste. Reduce heat and
simmer, stirring frequently until thickened. Makes one and one half cups (1 ˝
cup) of sweet and sour sauce.
