Steve's Kona Ogo Coleslaw
2 cups thick ogo, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup shredded won bok
1/4 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup red bell pepper, sliced thin
1/4 cup shredded daikon
1 Tbs soy sauce
1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
2 Tbs white sugar
1 tsp chili pepper flakes
2 Tbs chopped Chinese parsley
1 Tbs black sesame seeds
1 Tbs ginger slivers
1 Tbs salad oil
Mix all ingredients together and enjoy.
Kona Fisherman's
Wife Pasta
1 lb bow-tie pasta
1/2 tsp salt
30 fresh opal basil leaves or regular
basil leaves wiped clean with a soft cloth
1 cup macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
1/3 cup olive oil
1 Tbs garlic, chopped
2 Tbs butter
2 Tbs cream
1/4 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup shredded cabbage
Cook pasta according to directions on package.
Heat oil and butter in wok. Add the garlic and
vegetables. Cook about 1 minute. Add the pasta,
basil and cook another minute. Add mac nuts
and cheese and toss or mix. Pour into bowl
and enjoy!
