- Misty Inouye successfully defended her title at the 12th Annual Taste of Puna (TOP) Cook-Off; she again was awarded the grand prize.  The TOP Cook-Off was held on Saturday, June 21, in Puna Fresh Foods at the Keaau Shopping Center.  Misty’s entry “Petite Puna Tarts” won her this year’s grand prize of $2,500 cash.  She is a teacher at Kamehameha School in Keaau and loves cooking with a passion and enjoys watching the Food Network as her favorite past time.  The “TOP Cook-Off” promotes the use of products grown, raised, and made in Puna; the event supports Puna’s industries and businesses.  Twelve judges tasted five Puna grown coffees, seven salads, eight entrees, fourteen desserts, and one beverage.  This was the best attended cook-off to date according to the event committee and sponsors.
